Thio Eritrea

 

Thio is an attractive Afar village. Many colored huts of wood and bamboo line the shore, draped with fishing nets. It is the biggest fishing village between Massawa and Assab, and if you have an urge to fish from a dhow this is probably the easiest place to organize it.

To get to Thio, you have to pass through a barren area of the Eritrea where the Saho people live.
